Why should you read this blog?

There are so many out there, why is this one worth the investment of your time?

Put simply, I am offering tried and tested life knowledge, the stuff they don't teach you in school but should, the stuff that has helped me evolve as a Jiujitsu player, a man, a husband, and a father.  For free, no ebook in one easy payment, no monthly subscription, no hidden catch.  I just want to share my journey with you, no strings attached.

Everything I write about, I have put into practice and pressure tested myself.  I have spent hours researching these methods, analyzing different sources, looking for common themes and testing them as I go through life.  When you read my shit you know it works for at least one person on this planet.

What sort of knowledge am I talking about?

Maslows Hierarchy
Like I said, the stuff they don’t teach you in school and should.  This stuff, this knowledge links back to one goal - the evolution of self.  Abraham Maslow mapped out the evolution of self with his hierarchy of needs.  This pyramid has stuck with me since I was a teenager learning about business and economics.  If becoming the best person I can be isn't the meaning of this life, what is?

It is my hope that I will reach the top of that pyramid (I am a long way off but it is the ride, not the destination that is important).

Here are a few themes I want to write about:

  • How to achieve your dreams
  • Personal finances, methods to manage them, getting over the mortgage hump, investing
  • Why we don’t need an abundance of stuff
  • Meditation, breathing, yoga, spirituality
  • Dealing with depression
  • Submission grappling and the need for a physical existence
  • Breaking out of the rat race, my entrepreneurial evolution

Who am I?

I am Andy, a forty your old guy who has made a few dreams
 come true.

In my heart, I have always known that society's prescribed route (school, university, successful career, family, children, pension, etc) the one I had taken was wrong for me.

A decade ago, a good friend posted a meme on social media, it said:

"I would rather have a life of 'oh wells',
than 'what ifs'"

This simple sentence was my red pill, it triggered something in me.  I realized that if I wanted to be truly happy in life, I needed to take risks, use the drive I was wasting at work to achieve my dreams, to truly make my own choices and live a free life.

Since my red pill moment, my life has been a roller coaster of events.  I wouldn't change it, it has been hard and still is.  It is not all doom and gloom though, I made a very big dream come true six years ago: to live by the sea, in a warm safe country, to be happy with my wife, start a family, work less and take walks on the beach each day.  I did it, I achieved my first big dream.  The question became next?

To find out about the next part read on!

Today I am, just a guy who has had some success in his life.  I am still in the rat race but I feel as though I am on the brink of breaking out.  It is just round the corner, I know it is, I can feel it.  That is one of the big themes of this blog, to allow you to follow my evolution, witness my successes, failures, the lessons I have learned.

The gift of knowledge is one of the greatest gifts you can give in my opinion.  I want my experiences to inspire you, I want my articles to show how from the dark times, the light shines so very brightly, I want to help speed up your evolution, to show you that it is possible to escape the rat race and find freedom and fulfillment.   Peace and love Andy.
